Fundraising event for ACRES

Hello everybody, firstly allow me to wish each and everyone of you a MERRY CHRISTMAS! I know it's kinda late but.... i have been really busy and thus only managed to find time now to update my blog. :)
Charmed Bowtique believes in doing good deed and helping the less fortunate animals and humans. On 17 December, we embarked on another fundraising event and this time round, its for ACRES! I am glad to see good response for our jewellery and hairclips. Hairclips was particularly good, because everyone are attracted to the colours i guess. It's also a good feeling when people show me the unbelievable face when they learnt that i made everything myself - from big bow to small bow clips, necklaces, bracelets, earrings etc.. its just brillant! :p

Here are some photos of the event:

Mountbatten Gives Back

This is the project which kept me super busy for the past weeks. Need to make 3,000 bow clips and its all handmade. I am so thankful Dunman High School supported us in this event, if the students didnt helped us to make the bows, i m sure we will be pretty dead by now. :p In all, this is really a great experience and for Charmed Bowtique. At least, i have bring it to a greater heights in terms of fundraising. And i m so glad that my passion and hobby is of use and people love my bow creations. Hopefully, i will be able to use this skill which God has given me to help many others more. In fact, i only discovered my 'talent' 2 years back and have been working on it since then. :)

I started off with the project feeling unsure.. not sure whether can we complete in time and i have lotsa worries. Worried about the quality of the bows and so forth. But one week into the project, i have learnt to be more adaptable and be less fussy as what Grace told me. I realised if you need the quantity, sometimes we have to forgo quality but i m thankful DHS students are superb, they not only made more bows then what we originally forsee but the quality are also there as well. Special tks to teacher Najeeb for the great support!
I really love working with Maria, Cuiting and Grace.. they are such fun ppl to be with. They have taught me to see perfection through imperfections. They taught me to be a less worrier and everything is possible. :) I have also learnt to talk to bigger crowd of people and yes no advance speech was being prepared. I just talked.....

Through this event, we raise a total amount of $1,500 for the less fortunate students and we intend to continue to 'sell' the clips to get more funds. Can see the girls enjoying themselves too and i feel happy when students commented that this is their most fun PC lesson ever becos they get to do something meaningful. :) I hoped to be able to continue such good work and do my best to contribute whatever time, efforts and money i have to the less fortunate people or animals. Just hope that i will be able to get stronger staff support and less jealousy when the event is a great success. The worst part of the fundraising event is having to face lotsa unappreciative and fake people who probably hoped we wldnt be able to make it through.

Here's some photos of the event.

Updates

Hey guys, its CONFIRMED!! Charmed Bowtique will be coming in for next Sat's fundraising event for Treasure. :)
Am in the midst of doing up more bows with the hope that more funds can be raised on the event day. :)
This event is rather exclusive and it's only meant for people who purchase the entry ticket which includes a tea reception. But the reason why i love this event is because you can bring your dogs to the hotel.. i mean where else in Singapore will  they allow you to bring ur dog along to a hotel. So i can say its gona be a great experience. We participated in last year's event and it was superb. I am happy to be able to be part of it again this year and definately hope we can raise more funds. :)

I spent the whole of my night cutting, ironing and marking the ribbons and yes i m ready to start making them tonight. Seriously i cant wait to see my creations and i do hope i have 36 hours a day, at least i can better contribute my time to the animals.

Here is my big bagful of ribbons and there are still plenty of uncuts ones.. :)

If you are interested to attend the event, do grab the tickets fast!!! Contact ASD!!!

Very very Random

The title says it all. It's going to be random.. very random indeed. :p
Been a week since i stopped my bow making and i resume it yesterday night. happy to be able to start doing it again. Was seriously super busy lately with all the night meetings and wkend programme in place. But i am surviving..

Anyway the reason why i stopped doing bow last week is becos the organisers have the intention to hold on to the charity project but since it's confirm yst, so i started my engine again.. dad was also helping me. In fact, he is my 'worker' now. LOLx... although the skills not as good and he is not as attentive. but well i cant be so picky right.

Every piece of the bows are like an art to me.. and i pay equal attention to every single piece of them. In fact, i do QC on my end and i will always take out those failed one. I also ensure there is no excessive glue stuck on it etc... but not everyone view it this way becos i have seen those really terrible ones in the market. I wonder why will they sell products when they themselves wldnt even buy it. :p

I will still continue to have my QC, becos even though it's for charity, my brand name - Charmed Bowtique will still be seen there. :) That's probably the mind of an entrepreneuer. :)

More details of the charity event will be out soon. Stay tuned ya!
