Hi everyone, sorry for the lag in updating the blog.. was super busy with work and my precious dog - Hugo. Coming Sat and Sun will be my super busy day cos i am having 6 events in 2 days. Sat i will be having mahjong competition - 2 sessions and Health for Older Person talk and on Sunday, i have brisk walking in the morning, Go Green project and competition, mahjong semi final and final competition and i will end the night off with Active Agers' Festival Dinner. Busy huh? But it also means that the year is coming to an end and this is probably the last second project of the year. Final project will be a Christmas Party with Z18RC.
I must realli admit after transfering from HQ to field.. i am really super tight up with work. There are just so many events happening.. but still i always feel a sense of satisfaction after an event especially major ones which i put in tons of efforts into.. :)
Another reason why i have been so busy is because of Hugo... Yes, hugo is at my place for a few weeks as his house is undergoing renovation :). On Sunday night, at about 11pm... Hugo suddenly had this fainting spell... He becomes real goggy, when we called him, he didnt even responded.. After a while, he somehow managed to walk to the living room, but his whole body was wet and he cant control his bowels. His limps were not able to move at all and worst still, he is starting to close his eyes bits by bits.. i was really really frighten off but i guess somehow i still managed to remain calm.. i quickly called for help.. but sad to say, no one offered their help and thats when i realised the true meaning of selfishness and suprisingly it also happen even if the dog is your very own. But its a blessing that dog doesnt know, if not i think Hugo will be super upset too. :(
So, i quickly grab a thick cloth and wrap it around Hugo and run down to get a cab. I think God loves Hugo, the moment i was downstairs, i managed to get a cab and the best thing is the uncle dun mind ferrying a dog. Till then, Hugo was still goggy and half motion-less. So i wind down the window to let him get some fresh air.. and i think it helps.. after a while, i think he somehow managed to regain consciousness. By the time we reached Mt Pleasant - Stevens Rd, Hugo was much better already. When we entered into the emergency clinic, i saw a familiar face - Dr Sarah Wong and i was really really happy to see her cos she is Hugo's vet for his previous sickness and she knows his history well. :) so when she saw Hugo, she commented.. ah.. Hugo the silly boy.. heehee so i repeated what happen to hugo to her and then she did all the checks, apparently Hugo was having a slight fever.. and she suspected that it cld be an insect bite that he kena few weeks back.. so she asked me whether i wana give him the allergy jabs or do blood test. so of cos, being the KS me.. i confirmed will do a blood test one loh.. so we check on his blood count, his kidney, liver etc.. the test is much more specific than what he usually do.. and its of cos much more costly - $110. I think Hugo somehow recognise her also, cos he cheekily gave her a peek on her cheek..
Its a blessing that the blood test results shows that Hugo is ok.. kidney.. liver all functioning well.. except that bladder slightly swollen and also red blood cell size is smaller than usual.. but still consider ok lah.. so Dr Wong said most likely shld be insect bite and gave Hugo 2 jabs.. and some allergy medicine. I jus need to monitor him and make sure he is ok for the next few days. So far, Hugo is recovering well.. eating well and playing well. :) That night alone, i spent $400 plus.. cos the emergency consultation itself was already $250... and best of all, Hugo being a customer of Mt Pleasant East, he is entitled to 20% discount loh. and that save some money.. hahaha
After finishing seeing the vet, i got no choice but to call a cab as its rather late and i m not sure whether are there cabs ard or not.. somehow, we are lucky and managed to get an uncle who dun ming ferrying a dog and off we went home. Hugo have been a real good boy cos initially i still thought he will bark at the uncle.. but somehow he didnt but he was curling up at my neck loh and i got to carry him.. not easy leh.. 10kg and my arms are aching after that loh. and he was licking and kissing me in the cab loh, to me.. its like his way of expressing thanks to me.. for saving him.. jus proud that i managed to bring Hugo to a vet even without help.. :)
For 2010, my wish will be for Hugo to be healthy and happy always.. Bless him and of cos everyone in the family.. :)
